Where the Woodbine Twines

I often see these little vans out and about from Woodbine Dairies, delivering their products. Its a pretty W on the side. This one is parked outside the Braddylls Arms which invites, on the wall:

  2. I thought that "W" represented Wineries! That looks like a nice place to stay.

  4. I like both of those signs. The "W" is beautiful and the other one gets right to the point.

  5. I think the lovely art advertisements on both the van and the wall are, indeed, a sign of the times. The first is charming and the second inviting. :)

  6. I would not have taken that W to be for a dairy. But it is pretty.

  10. It's a very attractive logo. We have a long road called Woodbine Avenue that stretches from Toronto and up through East Gwillimbury. I bet most people don't know woodbine and European honeysuckle are one and the same. :)

  11. Anyone would be encouraged to patronise a business with such an attractive logo.

  13. EH is right - I didn't even know woodbine is a flower, although I am familiar with the place in Toronto! I agree, pretty logo, and I like the wall sign, signs that say what they mean.

[The rusty pipe on my blog is a familiar sight in many eastern countries where natural gas is piped overground, so I'm not sure that was the state secret they feared photographed. I think it was the dam itself, which I don't really show in my photo.]

  14. Terrific signs, Joo! I do love that ornate W. When growing up in Northern Ireland, Woodbines were the cigarettes my parents always smoked...it was not until years later that I learned it was a flower...LOL.

  15. Sounds like my kind of place. Some of my friends and I have said that when we get together for lunch we are surprised that the restaurant doesn't charge us table rent because we stay and visit for so long! The milk truck is very noticeable -- so ornate.
