Pedal Power

If only they had made the sign of the same material as the bicycle, but although aged, it is still selling the bike. The slogan was to differentiate this bike from their competitors who used cast iron for some of the critical parts, making them heavier than the all-steel Raleigh. .
I can imagine this workshop being filled with bicycles in its heyday. Perhaps with another sign inside
in stainless steel.
A world away from today's bikes.

nice old sign, of a well respected company. I cannot imagine riding a cast iron bike. or an all steel one, anymore!

When I was a kid Raleigh bikes were considered the best. Only one kid in our group had one.

I had a used Raleigh bike when I was a kid - I loved it - beautiful blue with a rack on the back - lovely!

That's a great sign. I had a couple of green Raleigh bikes years ago.

I never had one, but we all knew they were what EVERYBODY wanted. Sigh.
