ABC Wednesday - Llama?

Llama or alpaca? Which of these camelids are they.  Do those ears have the curve of a llama, or are they straight like an alpaca?
Their legs are woolly but the fleece has been shorn, possibly  to make an Andean (or in this case a Cumbrian) hat or jumper.
Do they have the straight back of a llama or a curved back and high tail of an alpaca?
Yes I think they are alpaca as well. Dash it, I'll have to think of something else for ABC Wednesday.
What a about a little horse?
Leave for ABC Wednesday here and see lots more words starting with L

Thanks! I have seen llamas here guarding sheep but I wasn't SURE they were llamas until I read this.

I've been told alpacas are nicer than llamas, FWIW.

I once saw a llama running down the road, it had escaped from it's sheep watching duties...it was closely followed by two people chasing it down....too funny!

There are several llama farms around here and we can buy llama fur slippers - nice & cosy! Love your photos.

Laughing. A little horse or an alpaca - either one works for me! Love the pics.

Glad to know that they are two different species. I was in Peru recently and bout a small mat for a little friend which was made of alpaca wool and the seller said an alpaca is a small llama -- in one sense he was right in trying to explain the difference to me(he was Peruvian) but I took it to mean an alpaca ia a baby llama. However, I am told that the alpaca's wool is softer than a llamas.
