Lions are popular holders of door knockers - you could give this one a nice hefty knock and it would echo in the hall beyond.
at Sizergh Castle.
A smaller knocker with a nautical theme might give a more tip tap noise, or you could choose the bell. Why an anchor?
It is on the door of the Ship Inn
I imagine Door Kraft will have a variety of door knockers to choose from behind the green door.

Hi Joy! Love those knockers! I have 3 like the lion one in my hallway - one for each bedroom and one for the guest bathroom. They're quite a conversation piece!

Happy Week to you ~ ^_^
That is an impressive knocker.
Happy ABCW!
Glad you threw the knock knock joke in there. I was expecting it.
Love all the door knockers. We don't see many of those around our area. Everyone has door bells.
A good door knocker is much more attractive than a doorbell, - love your collection.
Both knockers look great!
Thanks for sharing =) beautiful post and photos ;)

Love these door knockers!
But here it would be wasted, because people where I live bang on the door! (We do have a door bell:))
nice set of knockers (why does that sound risque?)

I wonder how far back in a large cavernous house you can hear the knocker.
