As the saying goes - I love work and could sit and watch it all day - or in my case take a photograph. Highway Maintenance are on the corner of one of the narrow streets of Broughton in Furness and begin to dig off the surface to excavate the road. Of course there is the obligatory
huddle to discuss the job in hand or perhaps the latest gossip. But no, roll of drums and dramatic music,
here comes an elephantine earthmover.
An entry to ABC Wednesday, a journey through the alphabet, this week sojourning at E here

You always are eager to see people working around these big pieces of machinery!
"The obligatory huddle" LOL, a worldwide necessity before any type of work begins, even more so if there is a hole or gap to peer into!
That made me smile :) There is nothing like a gang in hi-vis jackets to make you wonder what on earth it is they think they are doing.
I had to chuckle at the photo of the men huddling in a group. I actually caught a shot of 3 men in my neighbourhood one day as they all stood there looking down into a hole. I happened to have my camera and couldn't stop laughing!

Excellent choice for E, - although I don't suppose they brought that large earth mover out just for your convenience!!! It used to be the men huddled leaning on shovels....
Earthmover for E, excellent choice.
I like the various moods captured.

Always interesting to watch work crews whatever job they are doing!
Guessing what they are talking about is half of the fun! Great and interesting word of excavation!
I dig your post!

I have a unit of these, earthmover TOYS for they fascinated my kid and even while travelling we had to stop in case we saw the real one! Your post brought back the memories.
Ha! I like to watch work too. ;)) Workers look very much the same here too. ;)
